To Zillow, your home is just a number.
They plug that number into their mysterious algorithm and spit out a number that your home is ‘worth’. Now, keep in mind, Zillow is not ‘all knowing’… Did this home smell like cat urine or cigarette smoke from top to bottom? Was that home sold to a family member at a steep discount? What about that brand new kitchen that those neighbors upgraded to? Or that finished basement that Zillow doesn’t know about, yet? It is impossible for Zillow to consider the human element, without physically having seen your home and knowing how it compares to the nearby sales in the market.
