The temperature has FINALLY decided to drop here in St. Louis, which means it’s officially chili season and we couldn’t be more excited! It is certainly a fall staple for us. Here’s a sneak peek into Kait’s take on turkey chili.
Fun fact: there aren’t any beans!
Oh, and naturally we don’t measure a darn thing. Just throw it in the Crock-Pot® and taste as you go!
A few quick steps to follow-
Purchase your ingredients
This batch includes Jennie-O ground turkey, Lono Life beef bone broth, canned organic fire-roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, celery, carrots, green and yellow peppers, yellow onion, seasoning to taste plus avocado, jalapenos & shredded cheese on top!
Prep your seasoning
Kait makes her own, borrowing from Budget Bytes. Check it out here.
Add bone broth to the Crock-Pot® and let it start to warm
Bonus tip: use a liner for easier clean up!
Cook the ground turkey on the stove top
Once browned, add your homemade chili seasoning and fire roasted tomatoes to the ground turkey.
While this is cooking, chop/dice/puree your veggies as you please
We say “the smaller the better” for chili!
Finally, add everything to the Crock-Pot®, set to low for 8 hours and wait
High for 4-6 hours works too, but we find more flavor in the low heat option!
Super simple and delicious!
