How to prep for a day of house hunting

House hunting this weekend? Check out our top five tips to make the hunt as enjoyable as possible!

1. Wear slip on shoes
Just about every house you enter will request that you remove your shoes or add slip on covers over your shoes. We’ve learned this lesson the hard way. Checking out 5 homes on a Saturday afternoon when you’re wearing lace up boots is a little inefficient.

2. Pack a snack
FACT: No one likes a hangry house hunter. Keep yourself fueled and clear minded, so you can focus on the home at hand – and not your growling tummy.

3. Dress for the weather
This is especially important if you’re viewing any vacant homes. Vacant homes tend to be a bit chilly in the winter months, and a bit stuffy in the summer months.

4. Bring hand sanitizer
Not everyone lives the same way you do, and you never know what you might be getting into. Sorry, it’s the truth!

5. Bring your smart phone
Snapping photos of certain items you want to ask for (such as a refrigerator) or even simply of a few rooms can help jog your memory, and enable you to put together the best offer possible!

Happy house hunting!
